After the revelation of finding constant perfect waves at The Wave to hone his surfing technique, going back to the ocean was somewhat of a disappointment!

Maybe there's a business lesson in there somewhere - as much as we can study business theory and practice constructing perfect textbook answers, there's nothing like actually doing the real thing!

In this episode Neil and Richard discuss Is Your Business Sellable? and why the smaller end of the SME deal space is fundamentally broken and what that means for owner-managers wanting to sell one day.

They also explore the psychology of the owner-manager: the desire for freedom, the challenge of delegation, and how leadership style can shape the long-term fate of a business. Neil’s stories, from surviving the 2008 crash to building and rebuilding businesses, offer both realism and reassurance for leaders facing similar decisions.

If you'd like to discuss your business exit with Neil, he's always open to a conversation to help SME business owners on their journeys - or even to discuss surfing! 🏄‍♂️ Maybe you could join him at The Wave?

Many thanks again to Richard Buckle and Wellmeadow for hosting Neil on their #SMEGrowth podcast.
