Caveat on this clip – UNLESS your business is an exception to this rule, for example is a professional advisory firm, GP, dental practice etc., where consolidators are going around buying up smaller practices and bolting on the revenues, it’s extremely unlikely that you can sell your business for a 4-6x multiple and it’s also quite dangerous to hang your retirement hat on achieving that often mythical figure.

We reveal hard truths for business owners about their business exit. Don’t rely on a magical number someone tells you you will achieve when you sell your business if your EBIT is below £1m.
